The Choice of the Crowd
When the crowd was offered two,
The innocent one and a killer they knew,
Barabbas, the high-profile brute,
A murderer whose guilt none could dispute.
Yet the crowd, with voices loud and clear,
Insisted Barabbas be spared— no fear.
The innocent Jesus, sinless, pure,
The crowd sent Him to be scourged for sure.
A rabble-rouser, full of strife,
Released while the Holy One gave His life.
The crowd had a choice, a decision to make,
But they chose to crucify for their own sake.
In today’s world, hear the sound,
Be careful who you choose to stand around.
The crowd may shout, their voices loud,
But truth is not found in every crowd.
So, choose wisely, with hearts aligned,
Don’t let the crowd sway your mind.
For innocence once was crucified,
While the guilty, unworthy, walked beside.
