The “Heat and Eat” Betrayal: The MHI-City of Ottawa Utility Fraud Cartel

DESCRIPTION

This dossier exposes the systematic extraction of tenant welfare funds through the City of Ottawa’s utility billing system. Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI) receives Home for Good subsidies for utilities they do not pay, requiring newly housed tenants to pay from their limited, basic needs, leaving tenants without sufficient income for food or other basic essentials.  Heating or cooling systems routinely fail while landlords stall, profit and purchase more land to exploit more of Canada’s marginalized minorities. This is a coordinated kickback scheme between municipal bureaucrats and slumlords that starves vulnerable populations. Tenants are forced to choose between paying for groceries and paying for utilities they are allegedly receiving, all while the landlords pocket the difference, the SBT and LTB enable the collusion and use the Tribunals as a cloak for their fraud.
