Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid – Losing the War on Terror?

It didn’t take long for Canada to condemn the ‘cowardly act of terrorism’ that recently took place in Moscow.  Not suggesting in any way that We should not condemn such an action but do We really need to?  Is it not common sense?

What concerns Me more about these kind of attacks is that if they are motivated by terrorists, promoting the event is sponsoring the terrorist’s agenda!  Is that not the idea behind a terrorist bombing…  To make news headlines around the world so that their demands can be heard?  So that the people of the world will be so horrified they will sit glued to their TV’s waiting to hear what kind of demands the terrorists have?  I don’t know, I’m no expert on terrorism, but it seems to Me that this kind of publicity is probably exactly what they would want.  So why do We give it to them?  Do Our leaders want them to succeed?  Why is there no ban on fear mongering?  Shouldn’t the first defensive step be to keep terrorist attacks quiet?  How does this news help the people of the world?  How does it help to ‘thwart’ terrorism?  Does this not only suggest that the terrorists are winning?

How many freedoms have been given up, removed from legislation around the world since the 9/11 bombings?  How many more will be removed as a result of this most recent attack?  What is the terrorist agenda?  I have no idea, honestly.  I figure if We have this massive international war on terror I should at least understand what it is the terrorists want.

What I do know is that there have been more ‘terrorist’ attacks since 9/11 and the beginning of the ‘war on terror’ than there ever was before.  So if the whole goal of this war is to remove terrorists from the world, We are losing miserably and sadly, this is not an opinion – it is a fact.

We have already increased security in airports in all ‘commonwealth’ countries to the point where a person can hardly walk onto an airplane without passing through an x-ray scanner that effectively ‘strip searches’ each passenger visually before allowing them on the plane.  Explain to Me how a person manages to get a bomb onto a plane?  Really!  I couldn’t even get My shaving cream or toothpaste on the plane when I went to Japan.  But some dude can get a bomb on there?  I don’t think these things get there by mistake.  I don’t believe that this ‘terrorist’ doesn’t have a great deal of help from someone on the inside.  They blame security but what if it is corruption within the corporations that manage and maintain the airports?  Doesn’t that seem more likely?

Now Canadian ‘leaders’ are talking about new legislation that will help to improve security!  What could this be?  What else could We be asked to give up to make Our country safe?

When will people realize that the war on terror ends not with a victory over some group of extremists, but over Your own fear.  Stop being afraid and the war on terror ends.  The media is the only one terrorizing You and even if You do not believe this, terrorists could not manage such success without the media’s help.  Their actions would be meaningless if nobody heard about them.
